About Tern Cottage
Situated within a short stroll from Looe town, harbour and beach this semi-detached property provides an ideal location for an authentic Cornish holiday. The accommodation is arranged over four floors and it has a contemporary feel throughout. There is very small parking space to the front of the property and also a pre-paid pass for the Millpool public car park. The front door leads to the dining room and open plan kitchen which is well equipped with range cooker, dishwasher and large fridge freezer. Also on this level is the family bathroom equipped with large bath and walk in shower, w.c. and basin. The living room is reached via a staircase to the lower level and is comfortably furnished with large flat screen TV and games console. The property has wifi access. The washing machine is also accessed from this level. From the kitchen, stairs lead up to the first floor where there is a twin bedroom and a bedroom with full sized bunk beds. The balcony with bistro table and chairs and views around the town and sea glimpses is also accessed here. At the top level is the spacious double bedroom which has a king sized bed and an en-suite w.c. and basin. Looe is noted for its fine sandy beach, bustling harbour and also for its excellent restaurants which specialise in fresh fish landed daily at the local market. All of these delights are within a couple of minutes walk of Tern Cottage. The cottage welcomes one well behaved dog.

Introduction: Tern Cottage is a semi-detached cottage situated in the heart of the town of East Looe. There is a parking space directly outside the property for a small vehicle. Further free short term parking is available on the road for a maximum of 1 hour opposite the Texaco garage about a 5/6 minute walk. The nearest public telephone is outside the Guildhall opposite Barclays bank (2/3 mins.) The beaches of East Looe are a 3/5 minute walk and the smaller beaches of West Looe and Hannafore are a 20 minute hilly walk. There is also a boat ferry, tide permitting, from East to West Looe of 5 minute duration (2/3 min. walk away). The railway station in Looe is a 15 minute flat walk, and the local bus services operate from bus stops outside the Old Bridge Surgery which is a 10 minute walk. Exterior: The property is approached up a fairly steep road and across a level concrete parking bay. The front door is 28” (71cm) wide on a raised step of 6” (15cm) height with an additional threshold of 3” (7.5cm). Entering through the front door you arrive in the open plan dining area/ kitchen. The dining area has a carpeted floor with additional rugs and the kitchen is floored in lino. The light switches are 55” (140cm) from the floor and the sockets are above the skirting boards 10” (25cm) from the floor. Facilities include a remote control flat screen TV and a gas effect fire. The kitchen contains a range of dark wooden units at high and low level with a built in gas range cooker with five burners and with electric oven. The worktop is 36” (91cm) in height and the electric sockets are 12” (30cm) above the work surface. The kitchen also provides a free standing fridge/freezer, and a built in dishwasher. Leading downwards from the dining area is a staircase of 13 stairs which has a wooden child safety gate at the top. These are 25” (63cm) wide, with a tread of 10” (25cm) and a rise of 8” (20cm). These are carpeted with a rope handrail to the left going down and balustrade to the right. At the bottom of the stairs is the living room with carpeted floor and additional rugs. There is a gas effect fire and large flat screen TV with remote control plus a DVD and video player. The light switches are at the bottom of the stairs 63” (160cm) from the floor and the sockets are as upstairs above the skirting boards. An internal door of 29” (74cm) in width opens to a small carpeted storage room with light switch at 53” (135cm) and sockets at 45” (114cm) from the floor. Returning to the rear of the kitchen, a carpeted step of 8” (20cm) leads to the main bathroom. The door is 23” (58cm) wide and has a raised wooden threshold of 3” (7.5cm) high by 7” (18cm) wide. The bathroom floor is carpeted and facilities include a heated towel rail. The light switch is a pull cord some 48” (122cm) from the floor. The W.C. is close coupled and 16” (41cm) high with dual button flush. The double ended bath is 23” (58cm) high with shower mixer as well as conventional taps. The basin stands on a wood and glass platform 29” (74cm) high with monobloc tap. The separate shower cubicle has a mixer shower with single lever control and an entrance 16” (41cm) wide and has a step of 2.5” (6.5cm) high. The remaining twelve steps from the kitchen are carpeted and 28” (71cm) wide with 8” (20cm) risers and 10” (25cm) treads. A rope handrail is fixed to the right hand side going up. At the top of the stairs is a carpeted landing leading to two carpeted bedrooms. The first is a twin room with internal door 29” (74cm) and light switch at 55” (140cm). There is access between the two beds and a table lamp on a single bedside cabinet. Sockets are situated as before above the skirting boards. The second bedroom contains bunk beds with door openings, light switches and sockets as previous room. A further set of 13 carpeted stairs only 25” (64cm) wide with 9” (23cm) treads and 8” (20cm) risers lead up to a further double bedroom. After climbing the first two stairs there is also access to a small roof terrace through a narrow 19” (48cm) uPVC door. This leads to two metal steps down to the tiled terrace with metal railings on all sides. The bedroom light switch is 50” (127cm) from the floor. This room contains built in storage and a low level double bed. An internal door of 23” (58cm) wide leads to a small en-suite W.C. with wash basin. The W.C. is close coupled with button flush and 16” (40cm) high and the basin is 32” (81cm) high with monobloc tap. Additional Notes: This accommodation is suitable for mobile adults and children. There is space for the use of a cot if required.
