About Bumblefish


Bumblefish is an attractive modern apartment close to the beach in Downderry and a ten minute drive from the fishing port of Looe.

A flight of external steps leads up to the property where there is a balcony which has views down the valley to the sea and from here patio doors lead in to the open plan lounge kitchen dining area. The lounge area has a comfortable modern corner sofa and coffee table along with a 32" Smart TV for own Netflix and has a built in DVD player. The kitchen is fully fitted and well equipped with electric oven and hob, fridge freezer, washer dryer, coffee machine, kettle, toaster and microwave. There is a gate leg table and four chairs and the balcony also has a table and four foldaway chairs and two relaxing chairs - a perfect spot to sit and enjoy the sea views.

The main bedroom is an attractive room with comfortable memory foam double bed and built in storage. The second bedroom is a bunk room perfect for children. There is a family bathroom with bath and electric shower over. The property has free wifi access and a parking space. Bumblefish offers the perfect base for a holiday in this beautiful part of South East Cornwall. 

Downderry is the centre of the broad bay which stretches from Rame Head in the East to Looe Island on the West. The quiet village is self contained and includes a Post office/grocery shop, a pub with fabulous views over the Bay, a good restaurant called the Blue Plate and a coffee shop in the square. The village is on a bus service to Plymouth, Liskeard and Looe. The beach at Downderry is fine grey sand with colourful shingle and stretches from about a mile east of Downderry to Seaton in the West and beyond. The beach has a lot of rocky outcrops which makes many rock pools at low tide. It is a lovely walk along the beach to Seaton which has a large expanse of beach, and a café, pub and restaurant. There is a beautiful walk from Seaton along the river to Hessenford where there is a good pub. There are many other scenic walks in the area, and the Eden project is within easy reach by car.

General: The property has electric heating throughout and all bed linen and towels are provided. There is an iron and ironing board and a hair dryer. A travel cot and highchair are availble for babies.

What an immaculately clean apartment! The milk, biscuits and juice were a lovely touch. We loved sitting on the balcony and the location of bumble fish was ideal. Great walk on the beach to Seaton and The Inn on the Shore was very convenient. The rame peninsular is a favourite with us and the ferry from Cremyll takes you into Plymouth in under 10 minutes. We would be more than happy to give an excellent review.

We were really pleased with the apartment, it was clean, tidy, fully equipped and the tea, coffee, milk etc it was a lovely touch. Great location and views. The weather was a bonus for the time of year. We had a great Sunday lunch at the smugglers Inn in Seaton Thank you for the information pack. We will return and put a review on TripAdvisor.
