Situated in a commanding position overlooking the river mouth in Looe, Downderry is a stylish apartment situated within the Westcliff apartment block with fabulous sea views. Owned by a German couple whose love of Cornwall has been bringing them to visit for over 50 years, the apartment offers a perfect base to explore this beautiful part of Cornwall.
The accommodation is arranged over two floors with the upper floor housing the open plan lounge kitchen diner. The modern kitchen is fully fitted and includes electric oven and hob, extractor, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and Nespresso coffee machine (there is also a washer/drier in a separate cupboard). The dining table sits in front of the large windows from where the magnificent views can be enjoyed at all times of the day. It is a pleasure to sit and watch the fishing boats and pleasure craft coming and going and to enjoy the twice weekly sailing races that take place from late Spring through to Autumn. There is ample soft seating for three guests and a flat screen TV with integral DVD player. Limited Wifi is available, ideal for sending emails and internet searching but not streaming. A mobile router is available in the apartment and a broadband sim can be purchased for anyone wishing to stream or play internet games. Downstairs is the master bedroom with king size bed which enjoys the same fabulous sea views, a small single bedroom and a shower room.
Hannafore beach is a three minute walk away as is the popular Sea Kitchen restaurant, and the Island View cafe, which is a must visit, is less than five minutes on foot. The harbour and delights of West Looe are five minutes walk in the other direction and the busier East Looe side with its many shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs is a fifteen minute walk. When the tide is in it is nice to catch the foot ferry across the river for just 50p.
Downderry apartment has a reserved parking space at the rear of the building for one medium sized car. Guests with limited mobility please read the accessibility statement in the facilities tab. No children under 4 years please.
