About Eddystone

Upgraded to a gold award from Visit England in February 2019, this lovely apartment is situated in Downderry, just a few minutes walk from the beach and a ten minute drive from the fishing village of Looe. Downderry is the centre of the broad bay which stretches from Rame Head in the East to Looe Island on the west. The quiet village is self contained and includes a Post office/grocery shop, a pub with fabulous views over the Bay, a good restaurant called the Blue Plate and a coffee shop in the square. The village is on a bus service to Plymouth, Liskeard and Looe. The beach at Downderry is fine grey sand with colourful shingle and stretches from about a mile east of Downderry to Seaton in the West and beyond. The beach has a lot of rocky outcrops which makes many rock pools at low tide. It is a lovely walk along the beach to Seaton where there is a large expanse of beach, and there are also a café and restaurant right on the beach. There is a beautiful walk from Seaton along the river to Hessenford where there is a good pub. There are many scenic walks in the area, and the Eden project is within easy reach by car.

Eddystone is a wonderful 2 bedroom ground-floor apartment with pleasant sea and countryside views. It has an open plan lounge kitchen diner with patio doors that lead to an undercover decked area. This is the perfect spot to sit with a cup of tea or a glass of wine and enjoy the views. The kitchen is fully fitted and well equipped with all of the essentials you should need . It has 2 bedrooms including one double room and a second bedroom with adult-sized bunk beds. The property benefits from wifi and 32" freeview TV with NOWTV box and DVD player. (NOWTV box enables catch up TV, guests can also buy movie and sports passes or log in to own NOWTV account). There is a reserved parking space.

This is the perfect spot for a family holiday.

We had a great stay . The Apartment is compact but has used available space really well. Lot of thought has give into small detail like utensils , hangars , storage etc Very clean and in a great position to get to the village & beach Loved the area and weather was great so looking forward to coming back.

We had a lovely week at Eddystone, excellent location, spotless and a very well equipped accommodation with everything you need. Enjoyed our walks down to the beach and the 'Inn on the Shore'. Would definitely come back again.

Ken and Kathleen - 22/06/2019

Convenient, clean, perfect base for our Easter weekend.

Marisa and family - 25/04/2019

Absolutely perfect for our special visit. Immaculately clean with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Locals were extremely friendly, neighbours were especially nice. Beds were so comfortable. The view from the porch was lovely with the gentle sounds of the baaing sheep. The walk to the beach is just down the hill and easy access. It was a “smashing” holiday! We will tell all of our friends in the USA to visit and stay at Eddystone.
