About Teglios

Teglios is a stunning duplex apartment occupying the upper two floors of a 3-storey 19th Century Fish Palace situated on the banks of the Looe River. Over the Winter of 2016 the property has undergone quite a transformation and is looking fantastic with new carpets, new beds, improved room layouts and the addition of unlimited high-speed wifi to name just a few. The property is wonderfully spacious, full of character and has the most lovely views of Looe River and the harbour from all the principal rooms. In addition the property has been thoughtfully equipped to make it suitable for guests with reduced mobility.

On entering the property there are stairs and a stair-lift to the first floor landing. This is spacious, floored throughout in oak and gives access to:  the master bedroom, a lovely dual aspect room furnished with a super-king size double bed. Luxurious new carpets and bed linen give a real touch of quality and to lie in bed watching the river out of the windows is something quite special!  Also on this level are two further double bedrooms both with king size beds which again overlook the river. There is ample storage in each of the bedrooms. The main bathroom on this level is arranged as a fully tiled wet room with large shower area (suitable for use with a wheelchair), bath, basin and w.c.  Finally the utility room is located on this floor and is equipped with a washing machine and tumble dryer.

Stairs, again with stair-lift, lead to the upper floor landing.  From here access is gained to the shower room with shower enclosure, basin and w.c. and the vast open-plan living area.  This is a stunning room being some 40 feet long, floored in solid oak and with two sets of french doors to juilet balconies.  The ceiling is high with exposed beams and a mezanine floor with further king size bed which is a lovely space - when you stand up here looking out at the river below it feels like you are the Captain of the ship on the Bridge!  The furnishings are a happy blend of the modern and traditional including high quality burgundy leather sofas and armchairs, antique furniture and, in common with the other rooms, attractive new fabrics. There is a regulation size slate-bed pool table, table football table, 48" flat screen smart TV, DVD player, unlimited high-speed wifi and a Bose Bluetooth/wifi sound system so the whole family are sure to be kept entertained whatever the weather!

The dining area has a very large antique mahogany dining table just perfect for entertaining 8-10 and the kitchen area which is open plan to this room is finished in a Shaker style, fully fitted with halogen hob, electric oven, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and microwave. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything needed for 8 guests and more.

Throughout Teglios there are lovely examples of period furniture and paintings and many decorative items of taste and interest. The location is superb with the main sandy beach of Looe only a minutes stroll away as are a wide selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. The busy harbour with its constant flow of fishing and pleasure craft is a delightful prospect both by day and night. The accommodation will be appreciated by those wishing to be at the heart of the old town with all that it has to offer immediately to hand. Those seeking a delightful spot to convalesce or with a disability are also most welcome at Teglios - please give us a call to discuss your particular needs in detail before booking. Teglios welcomes one well behaved dog but please note there is no outside space and the main beach is not dog friendly. The Wooldown is a popular dog walking spot which is a 5-10 minute walk up the hill towards the top of East Looe.
