About Horseshoe

Horseshoe is an absolute gem of a cottage! Beautifully furnished and completed to the highest standard throughout, guests can be assured of a comfortable and peaceful stay.

The cottage is arranged over two floors. On the ground floor is the fully fitted kitchen diner and large master bedroom, a light and airy room with king size bed and striking en suite shower room. Upstairs is the lounge area with views down over the farm and second bedroom again a large room with king size bed and shower room. The upstairs bedroom has a juliet balcony which affords lovely views down over the farm. Both bedrooms have TVs and there is free wfi and ample parking. 

Downderry Village is a 20 minute walk down the hill and has a small shop with post office, a popular local pub with 180 degree sea views, and the Blue Plate restaurant. The beach stretches along the coast in both directions and has many rock pools to explore at low tide. The walk to the West takes you along the beach to the next village of Seaton where there are two beach cafes, The Smugglers Inn pub and a play park for children. There is also a nice walk up through the valley from here to The Copley Arms at Hessenford. 

Horseshoe Cottage is a peaceful retreat just a short distance from the beach and within easy access of the many delights that South East Cornwall has to offer. There are three acres of land that guests are welcome to explore including an organic vegetable and herb garden, perfect for ingredients for dinner, chicken house where you can collect fresh eggs and ponds which are home to the most beautiful cayuga ducks.

Bathrooms: Downstairs ensuite with mixer shower, wc and wash hand basin. Upstairs ensuite with electric shower, wc and wash hand basin.

Kitchen: Electric oven and hob, extractor, dishwasher, fridge with freezer box, microwave, kettle, toaster and cafetiere.

General: Electric heating throughout. Bed linen and towels are provided. There is an iron and ironing board and a hairdryer and a travel cot and high chair on request.

Dining: Dining table and four chairs.

Entertainment: Free Wifi. TVs in lounge and both bedrooms.

Outside: Approximately 3 acres of land including large pond (please note guests are welcome to explore this area at their own risk, there is a life ring in situ at the pond area). Free parking.
