This gorgeous seaside cottage, set just yards from the South West coastal path, has a wonderful feel to it, is deceptively spacious and retains the charm of past ages whilst providing comprehensive and modern amenities.

Thrift Cottage is beautifully decorated and furnished throughout and you will feel at home from the minute you arrive, from the pretty rose arbour in the front garden to the hand painted furniture, designer soft furnishings and quirky extras like the driftwood handrails. The accommodation is arranged on two levels with open plan lounge/dining room with a Smart TV and electric wood-burner for those chilly evenings and a well equipped modern kitchen on the ground floor. A door from the dining area leads out to the good sized garden with furnished patio and BBQ and pretty summerhouse overlooking the sea. On the first floor are the master bedroom with comfortable king size bed, a good size twin bedroom and bathroom with bath and shower over. Two beaches are within 350 yards; Plaidy, a pebbly beach with many rock pools to explore and Millendreath, just down the steps - large, sandy and perfect for swimming. The Black Rock Cafe is right on the beach, you can also hire kayaks and stand up paddle boards during the Summer months. Looe town centre is 5 minutes in the car or a 20 minute walk along the coastal path which has spectacular views over Looe Bay. There is private parking for one car and free Wi-Fi.

A beautiful cottage in an ideal location for a seaside holiday in a peaceful area of Looe and from which to explore further into Cornwall. One well behaved dog welcome.

Introduction: Thrift is a 2 bedroom cottage situated in the Plaidy area of East Looe. It is terraced with gardens to the front and rear. There is an allocated parking space for one car in the car park near to the cottages. The access to the parking space is down a narrow single lane track. Plaidy beach is 5/7min moderately downhill walk away, with Millendreath beach being 5/7 minutes walk down approx 100 uneven steep steps. There are beaches in East Looe which are a 25 minutes walk via the coastal path (very steep on the return walk) or 3 miles by car, with parking at the Millpool pay and display car park. The Looe railway station is 3 miles and situated in the town. The nearest bus stop and public telephone is in the Barbican shops/school area which is approx 1 mile and a 20 min steep and hilly walk. Exterior: Thrift cottage has gardens to the front and rear, laid to grass. In the rear garden there is a summer house/storage shed and garden and patio with garden furniture. From the car park area it is 20 yards to the garden path that lead to Thrift. The path is 10 paces to the front door which is 28in (71cm) and has a threshold step up of 3in (8cm). Living Areas: The front door opens into the lounge dining area which has wooden flooring. The light switches are 55in (140cm) from the floor and the electric sockets are located above the skirting board level throughout. Facilities include Smart TV, and dining suite for 4 guests. The stairs to the first floor lead off the lounge. The staircase has a total of 11 stairs each being 8in(20cm) in height which are carpeted, the staircase takes a right angle turn at a half-landing and has a width of 26in(66cm). From the dining room there is the back door to the rear garden area, the door is 28in(71cm) wide and has a threshold step down of 6in(15cm). Kitchen: From the dining area the walkthrough to the kitchen is 38in (96cm) wide. There are fitted high and low level units in the kitchen and sink drainer unit has cupboards beneath. The facilities include electric oven and 4 ring hob, washer/dryer, fridge freezer and microwave oven. The work surface height is 36in (91cm) and the electric sockets are 12in (30cm) above the work surfaces. The flooring is carpet tiles. Bedrooms: There are two bedrooms, one double and one twin, both have a door width of 28in (71cm) on entry. Both rooms have carpet flooring. In the twin bedroom the bed to the left has a restricted head height over the bed due to sloping ceiling. The beds are arranged at right angles. Bathrooms: The family bathroom is on the first floor and has laminate flooring, it comprises a bath with shower over, toilet – 16in (41cm) height, basin and heated towel rail. Additional Notes: This accommodation is suitable for mobile adults and children. There is room for the use of a cot if required.

We had a wonderful time at Thrift cottage. It was spacious, comfortable, cosy and very quiet. The beach was just down the stairs. And the beautiful Polperro, Talland Bay and Seaton Beach just a couple minutes drive away. Even if you want to visit Atlantic coast, like St. Ives or Newquay – it‘s only a one and a half hour/hour drive away. We travelled with friends who booked the house, Little oaks“ which was just two houses to the left of the five houses row. So that was just perfect! We would definitely come back.

Clean, cozy and well-equipped house with enough space for four people. The way to the beaches is not too steep and not too long. We really had a very good time in Looe and definitely want to return to Cornwall!

We have just spent a lovely week in this gorgeous cottage. It had everything we needed and was decorated beautifully. My teenager loved chilling on the decking and in the summerhouse. Location was peaceful. Enjoyed walking down to Millendreath and Plaidy beaches in the mornings. Walk into Looe along coastal path was scenic. Would recommend to friends and family.

We have just spent a perfect week in 'Thrift Cottage' Everything we could have wanted or needed was provided on arrival and the cottage itself was in immaculate condition. We loved how close it was to the beach even though it was a few steps but it was well worth it. A bonus is the bakery at the end of the lane that does great pasties and cream teas.

It was a superb, spotlessly clean cottage. The bed ultra comfy, the two beaches - one, wild and glorious, the other calm, were, as advertised, simple walks away and the local dog walkers were fun. We had a celebratory supper at the Salutation Inn in Looe, which was excellent, and a lunch with fabulous views and food at the Talland Bay Hotel.
