Awarded the Visit England Gold Award for Excellence, Anchorage is a beautifully renovated dormer bungalow perfectly positioned on the Southeast Cornish coast, offering unparalleled views of the sea. This elegant retreat promises both luxury and comfort, combining contemporary design with thoughtful touches that make it a welcoming escape year-round. Anchorage’s layout, spread over two floors, includes a ground-floor bedroom and shower room, providing accessibility for guests with limited mobility. Every detail, from the modern kitchen to the scenic bedrooms, has been designed to ensure a memorable stay surrounded by natural beauty.
Stylish Ground Floor with Coastal Flair
Anchorage welcomes guests with a bright, open-plan living space that showcases breathtaking views. The ground floor centres around a modern kitchen equipped with double electric ovens, a spacious island with a five-ring gas hob, and a drinks fridge—ideal for family gatherings and home-cooked meals. The kitchen flows seamlessly into the dining area, where guests can enjoy meals while admiring panoramic views across the furnished patio and out to sea.
In the adjoining lounge, an inviting L-shaped sofa and a wood-burning stove create the perfect setting to relax, while bi-fold doors open up to let in the fresh sea breeze and extend the living space to the outdoors. Step outside onto the patio, furnished for alfresco dining or morning coffee, with a beautiful garden that brings the coastal ambiance right to your doorstep. A conveniently located downstairs double bedroom features an ensuite shower room and private doors to the patio.
Scenic Upper-Level Bedrooms and Balcony
Upstairs, Anchorage continues to impress with a spacious master bedroom, a charming twin room, and a family bathroom that includes a freestanding bath and separate shower cubicle for ultimate relaxation. The upper level is all about the views: a private balcony runs the entire width of the floor, giving guests an elevated vantage point over the sparkling waters and lush coastline offering uninterrupted, 180-degree vistas that stretch from the iconic Looe Island to the West across to Rame Head in the East.
Beach Access & Nearby Attractions
Anchorage is a gateway to some of the area’s best beaches. Millendreath Beach, known for its sandy shores and popular beach bar and bistro, is a short walk down the hill (please note there are lots of steps), while Plaidy Beach, with its quiet, rocky shoreline and abundant rock pools at low tide, is equally close by. The scenic Southwest Coastal Path is accessible from Anchorage and leads to Looe’s historic town centre, a 20-25 minute walk with breathtaking coastal views, perfect for exploring the charming harbour, shops, and eateries.
Practical & Eco-Friendly Amenities
Anchorage has been designed with convenience in mind, offering parking for up to 3-4 cars, along with an electric vehicle charging point, making it ideal for guests who wish to travel sustainably. The house was absolutely top. When we came into the house we were already blown away with a breath taking view from the kitchen and living room. The house is exactly as in the pictures. Everything is clean, furnished with love and simply invites you to feel good. On the terrace you can make yourself comfortable on the lounge furniture and end the evening with a glass of wine. If the weather is worse, you can take a bath. Great house!!Kathrin - August 2023
