About Custom House

Custom House sits just on the hillside of East Looe overlooking the beach and is just a stone's throw from the town centre. With three super king bedrooms (which can also be arranged as twins) and three bathrooms the house offers versatile accommodation for families and couples looking to explore the area.

To the front of the house is a good size patio which is furnished with a round picnic-style table and BBQ. The patio gets the sun from mid-morning in the Summer months right through to the evening so is the perfect spot to enjoy some al-fresco dining. On entering the property at the ground floor there are two bedrooms, both with super king size beds and one with a spacious shower room en suite. The shower room for the second bedroom is on the first floor and is newly fitted for the 2023 season. Upstairs is the master bedroom again with king size bed and en suite with bath and shower over. All bedrooms have comfortable mattresses and good quality bedding and linens and the beds can be split into three-foot singles on request. PLEASE NOTE, AS STANDARD THE BEDROOMS WILL BE ARRANGED WITH A SUPER-KING SIZE UPSTAIRS AND DOWNSTAIRS AS ONE SUPERKING AND ONE TWIN ROOM, PLEASE REQUEST FOR ALTERNATIVE BED ARRANGEMENTS AFTER BOOKING.

Also on the first floor are the kitchen diner and lounge areas both of which enjoy the sea views. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a halogen hob, double ovens, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher. There is a washing machine housed in the new upstairs shower room. The comfortable lounge has twin leather sofas, a large Smart TV and patio doors that lead out onto the balcony which again gets sun throughout the day. Off the lounge is a small snug area for those that prefer to sit and read or enjoy a game.

A short minute walk down the hill sees you in the heart of East Looe where there are numerous cafes, shops, restaurants, and pubs to enjoy and of course, the main beach which is just a 3 or 4 minute walk from the house. During the Summer months, there are self-drive boats to hire as well as paddleboards, and kayaks, or for those who prefer to be driven there are glass bottom boat trips, fishing trips, and sea safaris around the bay or out to the Eddystone, many times these trips have been lucky enough to spot dolphins!

The house welcomes one well behaved dog. Although there is no parking at Custom House there is a local luggage delivery service available.  Pete from Looe Luggage Services will collect your luggage with his quad bike and trailer and can take it to your holiday home for a set cost of £8.

Bedrooms: All bedrooms have super-king size beds all of which can be converted to 3 foot singles on request. As standard, these will be arrange as two super kings and one twin room.

Kitchen: Double electric oven, halogen hob with extractor, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle, and cafetiere. There is a washing machine in the upstairs shower room.

General: The property has gas central heating throughout and heated towel rails in the bathrooms. Bed linen and house towels are provided but guests are asked to bring their own beach towels. There is an iron and ironing boards and hairdryers in two bedrooms.

Dining: Dining table with 6 chairs.

Entertainment: Free wifi, 56" flat screen smart TV, bluetooth speaker in kitchen.

Outside: Patio with round picnic style table and chairs, BBQ. Balcony with two reclining chairs. Please note there is no parking at the house but there is a local luggage delivery service which has a set cost of £8 and will deliver your luggage on their quad bike and trailer right to the door. The Millpool car park in West Looe is a 10 minute walk from the property. You can also drive up to the house to unload but it is steep and narrow so we would recommend walking it first.

Additional suitability notes

The walk up to the house from Looe is steep and then there are a few steps up to the patio. Internally there is a standard flight of stairs.

The location is perfect, close to the beach, the coastal path and all that Looe town has to offer, yet tucked up a quiet street. Watching the sun go down from the balcony was an absolute treat, as are the views of the beach and across the river to West Looe! Tastefully decorated, luxurious, yet practical, the comfiest beds, sparkly clean bathrooms and all the little things that make the difference. Would definitely recommend.

Such a lovely holiday home. The balcony with its stunning view is the main attraction for me. The house is thoughtfully appointed, with super comfortable beds and the kitchen is large enough for everyone to gather at meal times. It really does have everything necessary for a very comfortable and fun holiday. We have enjoyed our stay here, and loved Looe Town with its shops and pubs, walking the coastal paths, and paddle boarding in the river, and swimming in the sea. I can highly recommend Custom House and will certainly be returning !

Great location only a short walk up from the town centre, but away from any noise. The balcony off the lounge gets the evening sun and has amazing views out to see and across the valley to West Looe, Sundowners anyone? The kitchen is large and has everything, including a big table that you can sit everyone around, for long lazy meals with family and friends. Fantastic property, highly recommended.

Custom House is a fabulous property equipped with everything we needed. Along with a lovely relaxing holiday vibe this was the perfect place for a short break. Its location right on the coast path means there re lovely walks nearby,with the added bonus of being just a short stroll into town. It was lovely to rediscover Looe and all it has to offer. As an all year round sea swimmer, the proximity to the beach was an added bonus.
