River View Retreat is a lovely house a short walk from the centre of Looe town. Newly furnished in May 2021 the property offers high quality accommodation for up to 8 guests.
River View Retreat is an upside down house. On the first floor is the open plan kitchen diner, lounge, snug, shower room, utility and wc. The lounge diner includes a range style cooker, dishwasher, fridge freezer, coffee machine and a large dining table which extends to seat 8. The lounge has beautiful new sofas which comfortably seat 8 guests, a 43" Smart TV and bifold doors which open out on to the balcony which is furnished with soft seating and overlooks the mature trees in front of the house. Off the lounge is a cosy snug with 32" Smart TV with DVD, perfect for when teens wish to escape to their own choice of TV. Lastly on the top floor is the modern shower room with electric shower, wc and wash hand basin.
Downstairs are the four bedrooms all newly furnished with John Lewis furniture throughout. The two double rooms have king size beds and both twins have adult size single beds. All rooms have ample clothes storage. The master bedroom has an en suite which has a roll top bath, separate shower and wash hand basin, please note the en suite does not currently have a wc. High quality bed linens and towels and gas central heating ensure a comfortable stay all year round.
As well as the furnished balcony there are two additional outside seating areas. Close to the front door is a flat seating area with table and 8 chairs and there is a brand new Weber bbq, the outside area is undergoing some work so the photographs show the area as it is but it will shortly have decorative slate chipping ground coverage. Down a few stairs is a lovely double hammock, the perfect spot for a little siesta or to relax back and enjoy a good book.
The owners have given every thought to equipping the property for an enjoyable stay with extra touches like a picnic cooler, ice packs, camping chairs and a parasol for beach days. With a reserved parking space and welcoming one well behaved pet, guests will be lucky to find this little gem coming on late in the season.

Outside: Furnished balcony off the lounge area. Outside eating area with table and 8 chairs. Additional hammock area. There is parking for one car in between the two garages shows in the photographs and additional free parking in the lane available on a first come first served basis. Additional cars can be parked in the Millpool car park which is a short walk. There is a good size garage for storing bikes, kayaks etc but the doorway is narrow so not suitable for many cars.

Borowy Family - 17/07/2021Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the 'upside down' house. So well equipped. We challenge you to think of something unusual and then try to find it...??? You will!! if you want a meal beyond anything you have ever tasted go to The Old Sail Loft. You need to book! If you can't get in for dinner just go for lunch and do the set menu. A lovely day out is Polperro - the most quaint and quirky village! Eat pasties and enjoy gin!!
